At Tellico Woodworks, we believe the best results come from clear communication, thoughtful design, and a commitment to craftsmanship at every stage. Whether you're building a custom kitchen, installing new trim, or designing a fireplace mantel, our process ensures you’re involved, informed, and satisfied every step of the way.

We’ve refined our approach over 40+ years in the trade to make custom woodworking feel smooth, collaborative, and rewarding.

How We Work: The Tellico Woodworks Process

Step 1: Initial Consultation

Every project begins with a conversation & the consultation is free!

You can reach out by phone or email to discuss your goals & assess the space to provide initial feedback & collect info to properly price your project:

We’ll ask a few questions to better understand your project:

 What are you hoping to build?

 Where will it be installed?

 What style or function are you looking for?

 Do you have measurements & photos of your space?

 Do you have inspiration photos?

Step 2: On-Site Visit for Design Meeting

If necessary, we’ll schedule a site visit to take detailed measurements and review the

space firsthand if not able to do it over the phone.

This step helps us:

 Better Understand your layout and room flow

 Identify any obstacles or framing requirements

 Match existing finishes, colors, or materials

If you’re working with a builder, contractor, or designer, we can coordinate directly with

them during this stage. Large projects like complete custom home interiors will take

multiple design meetings or plans from your architect or designer to see what spaces are

being built for Cabinetry & Finish Carpentry.

Step 3: Custom Design

Once we’ve gathered details, we’ll sketch or render a custom design — tailored to your

exact specifications, so we can show you we understand what you want! Every Tellico

Woodworks project is built from scratch, so this is where your ideas truly begin to take

shape.

You’ll be able to review:

 Cabinet or millwork layout

 Material selections (wood types, interior & exterior)

 Finish options

 Functional elements (drawers, pull-outs, shelving, access)

 Decorative accents or trim profiles

We’ll revise the design as needed until it fits both your space and your vision.

Step 4: Quote and Timeline Discussion

After finalizing the design, we provide a clear quote and estimated timeline. Our proposals include:

 Clearly descriptive line items so you can see what is driving the cost for           budget purposes.

 Separation of projects or rooms with subtotals.

 Payment section that will show you the cashflow we need through the           duration of the project.

 What’s included and what’s not.

We are transparent about costs, schedules, and expectations so there are no surprises later. We will estimate the approximate time we need to complete the project & let you know when we can start based on our current project schedule.

Step 5: Final Drawings

Once Proposal is approved & deposit collected to secure your start time we will move

forward with final scaled drawings for your approval.

These scaled drawings will consist of everything to ensure you are getting what you

wanted:

Step 6: Delivery and Installation

Once your pieces are complete, we schedule the delivery and installation. We work efficiently and carefully to minimize disruption in your home or business.

Installation includes:

  • Professional fitting and adjustment
  • Seamless integration with existing architecture
  • Clean-up and walkthrough of completed work
  • Final client sign-off

We treat your space with the same respect we give to our craft.

Step 7: Follow-Up and Satisfaction

After the installation, we’re still here if you have questions, need adjustments, or want to plan a future project. Most of our work comes through referrals — so we make sure you’re thrilled with the final result.

We take pride in building long-term relationships, not just woodwork.
